Meet Our Founder
Melissa, born in Lima, Peru, has always carried the flavors of her homeland close to her heart. When she moved to San Jose, California, in 2006, finding authentic Peruvian food was nearly impossible, and she deeply missed the flavors she grew up with—especially empanadas. Determined to bring a taste of home to her new life, she started making them in her own kitchen.
Her journey took a new turn in 2016, when she relocated to Orlando, Florida, and began selling her homemade empanadas to friends and family. What started as a small passion project quickly grew into something bigger, fueled by her dedication and love for Peruvian cuisine.
After years of hard work, in 2023, Peruanísima Bakery was born—a place where Melissa could finally share the authentic flavors of Peru in Orlando with the community. Today, Peruanísima is more than just a bakery; it’s a tribute to tradition, perseverance, and the deep love for Peruvian food that inspired it all.
